Julien Blanc-Gras

Resident in 2024

Writer, traveler and journalist Julien Blanc-Gras has been to the four corners of the globe, drawing inspiration for several of his books from his travels.


His first book, “Gringoland”, won a prize at the Festival du Premier Roman de Chambéry in 2005, propelling him to the forefront of contemporary travel literature. To date, he has published some ten novels. 


He is also widely published in the press, having contributed to publications such as M le magazine du Monde, L'Obs, Philosophie magazine and GQ. He is also present on Radio France with the podcast “Oli” and a travel column on France Inter, as well as on Radio Nova with a literary column.


After the birth of his son, he decided to explore the theme of fatherhood in his books “In Utero” and “Comme à la guerre”, and was even entrusted with a column in Parents magazine. His latest novel, “Bungalow”, published in May 2024 and in which he explores the intimacy of a family subjected to the ordeal of travel, has been warmly received by audiences and critics alike.
